Rant. Clients always think of the ugliest things.

As usual we have two open days at the Universities in Slovenia. People in the end of high school pop up for a visit and get a tour of the University and get a feeling of the place and where they want to study further. Of course, that is accompanied with nice leaflets, brochures and sometimes CDs.

This year a friend of mine said if I have some time before the open days, to make the CD package with the booklet. I said yes after a while as I did not know how I would be with time, but well travel can wait.

The package is for University of Maribor, Faculty of Arts department. At first I got the material, and their design style, which was in fact an already made cover for the DVD box. Ok, I looked at it and it was rubbish and my friend got the deal that we can make it from scratch. So I went and banged my head for a day to make a new one, after I already did the cover and inside template for the book. We learned that, well we can not use any of the new stuff, because they have some book already printed in thousand copies and the design is that ugly thing on already. I almost threw something through the window, but so I had to take the ugly thing and do the whole thing.

It is just horrible, but please join University of Maribor and Faculty of Arts nevertheless, they should get nicer looking publications from now on.

And of course, the covers. Left my new one, and right the one that went to print today -.-
